大宋年间，梁山落草梁山的杜迁，为查韩御史灭门案的证据，被新任总捕严绍新追捕，逃亡至柴府后花园避难，仗义疏财柴进原与杜迁有些交情，便以太祖皇帝御赐柴家免罪的护身符“丹书铁券”挡驾，使前来意欲搜查的严大人无功而返。期间，柴进意外得到了藏着买官名录的一把子母剑，为了查清楚幕后主谋，柴进连夜护送杜迁回梁山，在独峰山上，派来偷剑的内奸浮出水面，柴进这才恍然大悟，原来知府才是卖官者，所谓的庇护柴进，其实是怕证据落入严大人手中！柴进和众庄客合力消灭了知府内奸远庵和官兵，安全送走了杜迁。严大人也亮出了钦差身份，并将柴进发现的买官名录原件送往了刑部！可谁也没有料到，买官的最大头目不是知府乃是高俅，严大人最后被削职为民。

During a walk of several days, all the relatives (foster sisters, foster father, alleged friends and real ones, the foster son, lovers) have enough time to get to know each other better. Because in the end they have no other conclusion than that nobody really knew anyone. Old intrigues are dug up, the foster sisters finally learn why the foster brother just disappeared from the family, and they can begin to develop a real image of the mother. Once Christine's final resting place is reached and she is buried, all family ties, good and bad, are shaken around.
